From June 8 to 11, 2026, the academic atmosphere was vibrant on the campus of the University of Alicante (UA), Spain, as the 10th International Symposium on Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Advanced Batteries (Hyceltec 2026) was successfully held. As the official distributor of Optosky in Spain, the SFTEC team presented our full range of spectroscopic solutions and engaged in deep technical exchanges with renewable energy researchers from around the world.
01 Why Are Spectrometers Indispensable in Hydrogen and Battery Research?
Throughout the event, we felt strongly that whether for evaluating catalyst activity in electrolyzers, analyzing degradation of proton exchange membranes (PEM), or assessing compositional uniformity of cathode/anode materials in lithium‑ion batteries, fast, non‑destructive, and in‑situ spectroscopic characterisation has become a standard tool in the laboratory. Optosky's product portfolio covers a broad spectral range from UV to short‑wave infrared, and can be flexibly configured with fibre‑optic probes, sample holders, and software algorithms to meet diverse experimental needs—truly a "multi‑tool" solution.
02 Highlights from the Exhibition
- Customised solutions sparked lively discussions: Our Raman microscope and hyperspectral imaging systems offered new perspectives for micro‑scale compositional mapping of battery electrodes, and several professors expressed interest in collaborative testing.
- Local support was well received: As a local Spanish distributor, SFTEC not only provides equipment sales but also emphasises one‑stop support including installation, method development, and after‑sales training. This was particularly appreciated by laboratories that had previously faced slow responses from overseas suppliers.
03 From "Showcasing" to "Co‑creation"
During the symposium, we had in‑depth conversations with researchers from the University of Alicante, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and several European hydrogen start‑ups. We all agreed that breakthroughs in clean energy technologies rely on precise measurement tools, and spectroscopy plays a critical role as a "quality guardian". The SFTEC team also gathered many cutting‑edge application requirements; we will work closely with Optosky headquarters to develop more dedicated accessories and spectral databases tailored to the hydrogen sector.
04 Looking Ahead
Although Hyceltec 2026 has come to a close, SFTEC's commitment to serving the renewable energy research community in Spain and the Iberian Peninsula continues. We warmly welcome those who could not visit us during the event to contact us at any time for product brochures, demo appointments, or to discuss your specific application challenges.
The future of clean energy needs clear insight—and SFTEC is ready to walk that path with you..
